This is a guest post from Ashlee at Cookie Monster Mum.
I currently live in California, but my husband is from Las Vegas and his friends and family still live there. As a result, I like to think of us as semi-locals of Las Vegas as well.
From spending a lot of time there, I’ve learnt there’s more to Vegas than most tourists know about. Here are five of my “must see’s” if you ever decide to visit Sin City.
#1 Visit Retro Bakery
It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t recommend my favourite bakery of all time. You can trust me on this one; I class myself as a dessert connoisseur, so I can confidently say this place is worth the trip off the Las Vegas strip.
Try the hopscotch cupcake – you can thank me later.
#2 Red Rock Canyon
Perfect for beautiful hiking, gambling at the casino, a nice lie down by the pool, and lots of family fun. We love Red Rock for a local “staycation.”
#3 Secret Pizza Place
Located on level 3 of the Cosmopolitan hotel, this secret pizza place has no sign, no door, and no indication of its existence. Once you try a wonderfully giant slice of their yummy pizza, you won’t want to keep it a secret much longer.
#4 Top Golf
I know other cities have Top Golf as well, but no one does it quite like Las Vegas does. This is such a great place for a party, may that be a birthday, bachelor and so on, or just a night out with friends.
Complete with amazing food, a full bar, golf (obviously!) and even a pool. This place honestly rocks.
#5 The Peppermill
This quirky bar is stuck in the 70s and it’s fabulous. You can take a seat on the fuzzy chairs by the fire, order a deliciously huge drink and enjoy the “travel back in time” theme.
Have you been to Las Vegas? Are there any other cool places you’d like to share?
