I’ve decided that considering I’ve recently turned 20, it’s the perfect time to start getting my shit together. Though blogging may seem like a weird way to do that, for me blogging will be an escape from my everyday life, that fingers crossed, people will enjoy reading. I work as a Digital Marketing Assistant so I feel I might as well put my skills into practice. I’m planning on talking about pretty much anything. May that be fashion, food, friends or the fabulous places I go to. If you like listening to that kind of thing then cool, I welcome you to stick around.
The Basics About Me
Before that, I think it’s best that you learn some of the basics about me. As I’ve already said I’m 20 and live in a Stoke-on-Trent which is basically the city equivalent to marmite – you either love it or hate it. I live with my dad, sister and two cats (I’m one hundred percent a “crazy cat lady”).
My favourite colour is baby pink though I love yellow as well. I spend my weekends practically living at the cinema with my boyfriend. My favourite popcorn is sweet all day, every day. I love going on long walks, drinking herbal teas and baking my vegan almond & cranberry cookies. (Wow, I sound like an old lady.) I’m not a vegan but I’d love to be for both health and ethical reasons. Unfortunately, I don’t like vegan meat replacements so I still eat chicken and find that whilst living at home, it’s hard to completely change my diet in a house of meat and dairy eaters. I love buying designer espadrilles but hate spending more than £3 on a top. I’m obsessed with dark chocolate and watching YouTube. My favourite YouTubers are Shani Grimmond, Nikki Tutorials, Holly Boon, Jamie Genevieve and Tammy Hembrow. Their lives are literally amazing and have inspired me to want to change mine.
What I Do Currently
I know I’ve mentioned this before but I currently work as a Digital Marketer and have done since college. I began as an apprentice, completing my Level 3 and am now working towards my Level 4 as an employee. I’ve always loved social media, photography and art, so it was a no-brainer for me. That and I couldn’t stand the thought of university. I actually love where I work although, working a 45-hour week can be quite tiring for me. Just like I would at Uni, I’ve met some lovely people who’ve actually helped me to get the ball rolling with my blogging so that’s amazing. I don’t know if I’m going to stay in marketing all of my life because at the end of the day anything could happen, but so far, I’m really enjoying it and find I’m learning so many new skills each day.
Aside from work, in my spare time I love playing with makeup, online shopping (who doesn’t?) and cleaning – I find it super, super therapeutic. Since having quite bad panic attacks and anxiety a year or two ago, I’ve found cleaning is a God sent for helping me clear my head and calm down, which used to be extremely hard. Now I only get panic attacks when drinking alcohol so I’ve don’t drink anymore and that’s helped make my social life non-existent. Anyone who has experienced panic attacks will know that feeling like you’re about to die is atrocious and so fucking scary, hence I hate having just one tiny glass of alcohol.
Other than that, I’m pretty normal and live a basic life. I look forward to talking lots of rubbish on my blog and appreciate anybody who reads it. I’m obviously new to “the blogging world” so please be kind. I have wanted to do this for a long, long time, ever since I watched ‘The Perfect Man’ and saw how “cool” Hilary Duff looked when she was blogging in the film. That movie was out in 2005!
