I’m Instagram obsessed. It’s my go-to social media app (closely followed by Twitter) for many reasons: it’s super easy to stay up to date with friends, know what’s going on in the celebrity world and it’s the best platform to get great fashion inspiration.
I went through a phase of loving Pinterest and trying to use that to get some style
This blog post will take you through my favourite fashion on Instagram and the 6 Instagram influencers who give me this
#1 Lissy Roddy (@lissyroddyy)
Probably my most favourite Instagrammer at the moment, Lissy Roddy has the bomb-est style ever. It’s like comfy, street wear paired with classic, “chic” style.
From joggers, to huge teddy coats, to blazers paired with graphic hoodies, she is a style queen.
She does have a lot of designer accessories like her rings, necklaces, bags and shoes which definitely make her outfit look 10 times better – I wish this wasn’t the case haha! Either way, she looks great and everyone needs one or two designer accessories to dress up their style every now and again, right?!
#2 Louise Thompson (@louise.thompson)
Thanks to Louise I’ve fallen in love with headbands. She is the headband queen. I remember when I used to watch her on Made in Chelsea, I wasn’t really a fan of what she wore and used to always think “if she just took that headband off and removed those massive earrings, I’d love that look even more”. How wrong I was.
Maybe it’s just because I’ve grown up and my hideous high school fashion has been left behind but for nearly a year now, I’ve been following Louise to help me hunt down lots of amazing headbands and she is my main reason to go to the gym. Now, I just need to remember to wear them.
Tip: I mention this below but Tara, @taramaynard25, has helped a lot with my understanding of what works for my body (and face) and what doesn’t.
Aside from headbands, her overall style is amazing. She’s really sophisticated and classy and knows how to make statement jewellery really shine and enhance her look. Sadly, I just don’t have enough time in the morning to style myself properly and add jewellery and headbands to my outfit on an everyday basis.
#3 Frankie Gaff (@frankiegaff) & other MIC stars
Frankie says herself that she wears a lot of clothes from Zara and similar stores which is probably why I love her fashion sense so much. Zara is without a doubt one of my favourite clothing brands to buy from, if not the top.
So, whether she buys all of her garms from Zara or not, she makes everything she wears look expensive and I love that! Her style is quite tom-boy-ish though chic at the same time which has to be my favourite.
I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again, comfort it key. 🗝
Other great Made In Chelsea stars who have bomb fashion sense:
#4 Molly Hauge (@mollymaehauge)
I only recently came across Molly from using the Instagram explore tab. I suppose when you see someone who looks as beautiful as she does, your natural instinct (or mine anyway), is to scroll through her feed and spend a while wishing I looked like her.
Anyway, her fashion sense is similar to Lissy Roddy – maybe because they’re Instagram pals? Either way, she shows that comfort is key and it’s so easy to make joggers look good.
Aside from that, she also styles lots of boots and mainly sticks to blacks, whites and other nude shades which I love. I’m a sucker for a white t-shirt, black leggings and white trainers.
I always feel like when I wear that kind of thing I look super basic so thanks to Molly, I’m able to see how quirky trainers, vinyl leggings or layered tops can enhance this rather basic look to make it cool and fashionable.
My favourite picture of hers has to be this one:
#5 Tara Maynard (@taramays25)
Now, I don’t just love Tara’s style because she is practically family – ly💕 – but she actually is one of the best people ever to help you change up your fashion. She makes anything and everything
Whether it’s adding a hoodie under a dress or wearing sneakers with a suit, she honestly looks amazing. She’s also made me flares obsessed and to basically shop in a different way… I now try to make sure the clothes I buy will “suit my shape” so that I’m essentially “dressing for my figure” to ensure my clothes look flattering.
I know most people would do this anyway but I never did. I’d wear bodycon tops and dresses thinking they helped to make me look thin (my dream💭) when they really didn’t. In fact, they made me look bigger.
Plus, because of Tara, I’ve found lots of great brands like NA-KD where I’ve recently bought the nicest denim jacket and of course some designer labels like Kenzo – which prior to her I had no idea about.
#6 Emma Louise Connolly (@emmalouiseconnolly)
I’ve just realised how Made-in-Chelsea-heavy this list has become. I know Emma isn’t a Made in Chelsea star herself but her now husband-to-be, Oliver Proudlock was/is. (P.s. Congrats to them!💍)
Anyway, Emma is one of the most beautiful people ever – she makes me want to wear zero makeup and just rock “me”, though sadly I don’t look anywhere near as stunning as her.
Her fashion sense is also next level and quite dramatic in some cases – particularly her choice of shoe. If you’re feeling adventurous and want to tap into lots of different styles, like Tara, she can pull anything and everything off.
See below some of my favourite styles: As you’ll see, she changes from what I call “princess” wear, to casual but dressy, to street.
Of course, there are so many other amazing fashion accounts on Instagram, I must have suggestions of new style bloggers to follow on the daily. Find who’s style suits your taste buds and follow them to get great fashion inspo!
I know my fashion sense isn’t amazing and because I like so many different styles, it’s hard to find my own unique style at the moment – plus I’m not a millionaire so I have to settle for cheap and cheerful clothing.
Either way, I’m learning and for the majority of the time, I do like what I wear. I just NEED some more designer accessories, hoodies and shoes in my wardrobe, then I’ll be content.
